Selection
Topics are selected for usefulness to a defined awkward situation, not solely because a merchant offers a commission. Product inclusion should be supported by fit, availability, source quality, and a meaningful comparison.
Independence
Merchants and affiliate networks do not receive advance approval over independent editorial conclusions. Sponsored material, if introduced, must be visibly separated and labeled.
Sources
Objective specifications should use current primary sources when possible. Secondary sources may provide context but should not silently replace unavailable evidence. Customer reviews may identify questions to investigate; they do not prove a universal result.
Testing
Testing notes identify what was tested, by whom, for how long, under what conditions, and with what limits. A product is not described as tested when the work consisted only of reading a listing or watching another reviewer.
Updates and corrections
We correct substantive errors and distinguish updated findings from original publication dates. Prices, inventory, program rules, and product versions can change; readers should confirm important details with the merchant before purchasing.
Safety and dignity
We avoid medical claims, demeaning language, unsafe instructions, and recommendations that depend on violating another person’s privacy or boundaries.
